Part one of a huge March Weekender for Postcards belongs to east London party starters SEXBEAT. Wild Beasts have started 2010 by blasting off into stratospheric hugeness with album Two Dancers. They’re on everyone’s ones to watch list at the moment so buy a ticket before they all sell out! Lord Auch have been wowing those in the know for sometime, brooding and macabre their brilliantly difficult second EP was released on Young & Lost Records in 2009 and they’re already putting the finishing touched to another one. As if that wasn’t enough, which frankly it should be, Erland & The Carnival hoist their rapidly rising star over our heads for the evening.

No Pain In Pop are responsible for putting out records from people like Nite Jewel through to shoe gaze revivalists A Grave With No Name. For Saturday 13th, they’ve started their line up with one Jamie XX! Expect a future of dubstep sound from the remixer of the moment. A Grave With No Name have been popping up on the covers on trendy zines, making beautifully delicate surf grunge and generally acting cool for the last few months so catch ‘em while you can. The origami crew will be supplying you to the means to create some crazy critters and test you paper folding skills. Never ones to invent an excuse for a party, March 2010 sees the Geek’s celebrate their fourth birthday as DJ partners, Remixers and All-Star Buckaroo champions (2007 - Bournemouth West League 2). Their original plans for an evening of Stock Car Racing were sadly curtailed when Lee Geek remembered he can’t drive.  So instead join them as once again they take over Sixty Million Postcards with a fistful of tunes, some matching headphones and an unrivalled sense of timing.  Entry is free, but dancing is compulsory.

Back this year an amazing new single on Erol Alkan’s Phantasy label, Late Of The Pier remain one of the most exciting bands in the world. In fact to quote Mr Boys Noise they are “the best band in the world”. We’re extremely excited to have them come to Bournemouth and play records they’re into and are influenced by. Expect to hear mutant electro, oddball pop and chest beating disco. Bournemouth’s own Yaaard makes beautifully distorted electronica influenced HEALTH, M83 and Ricardo Villalobos.
