It is not everyday when you get to see a band in an intimate venue like 60 just after they have played somewhere like the Brixton Academy. The Invisible are going to be BIG, and we have them playing at 60 Million of the 24th November. Getting compared to TV On The Radio, and supporting Hot Chip & the Foals on their next tour, these guys have started to make a real name for them selves.

Come down and make build paint or draw, let
your creative side explode, all materials supplied by the 60MP art box, hosted
by the Ishihara buffs. Make and decorate the biggest pub paper airplane, an
army of cardboard Robots, participate in knockout origami competitions, or make
your Christmas cards. The craft club is on the 1st Wednesday of every month
from 6pm onwards.
From behind the bar to behind the decks, from
pouring pints to playing records – FurFury return with a couple of mates
dragged along for good measure to give you the best tankard, power rock, pub,
pop, electro, dance disco, so get your Shoes on and get to the front. Oh and
maybe a power ballad or two.
The desire to play power ballads and 80’s pop
is strong in these two. Because of this we decided it was for the best if they
had their monthly slot at the start of the month away from the festive period,
so that the customers aren’t ODing on Christmas cheese.
This Sporting Life was recently said to be “The
best excuse to be hungover on a Saturday morning” by a well-known Dorset
Naturists magazine. The format of the night is a wide selection of the best
back room resident DJs of Bournemouth and beyond, going head to head, playing
stuff that makes you air punch and do karate moves in time to music in a dark
corner of the pub. It’s entertaining stuff you just can’t, and don’t have to
pay for.
In
the last year, the nights curator Tosh, has played a 12 hour long 80s set to
packed festival tent in Scotland, supported Chromeo & Herve at The End;
programmed music for London Fashion Week, represented Postcards at Glastonbury
and played some records in Ewan McGregor’s garage… it’s been a long &
strange year.
Your
final chance to get rid of the clutter in you wardrobe and cupboards and make
way for all the new tat you are likely to receive this Christmas. As we are
about to be gripped by the recession, think of this as a way to make some
important Christmas cash and pick up a few presents for your nearest and
dearest. Jumble sale starts at 3pm, just enough time for you to have finished
your Christmas shopping and have a roast.
The
Postcards Pub Quiz; the towns best quiz master returns to take you on an
adventure of the quiz kind, with the best soundtrack you’re going to get on a
Sunday night.
Ishihara
is by and for Bournemouth's extensive but often ill-represented art community.
As we turn the pub into a galley space come an see what gems are on offer, with
opportunities for anyone to get involved and have art displayed, with bands and
djs plus live instillations, don't miss out.
As the winds tear outside, and people huddle
away from the rain, be gently awoken into the soft sounds of Battenburg, with
warm cakes for cold hands drop the winter blues for an evening of happiness and
glee by our tea party hosts.
The "sneak one in my sack peep show"
Christmas special, arriving back in Bournemouth from yet another sell-out tour
of the bingo halls of Shoreditch and Battersea, bringing to you the a-to-z of
aural festive cheer.
Being the last week of term for the students
amongst us, we thought we would get Geek Chic back for one last time this year.
This night should come with a guarantee for ‘the best
indiediscoelectrohiphoprock’nroll Saturday in town’. The geeks have been
planning this visit since the morning after their last and with their huge
vaults of vinyl, rooms of cd’s and terabytes of mp3’s we are getting pretty
excited by their next visit.

The festive spirit is well and
truly here……. The premise for this night is simple… Salisbury’s finest, YBADJ, play the best songs that have ever charted in positions 1-24… we
count down much like an advent calendar. What will be their best number one
ever???
Southampton’s Ken & Virginia are like Uffie
and Feadz with more attitude when they play live. Not R&B attitude, but
good attitude. When they dj together, they are some of the best the best party
starters around, dropping unexpected hits in the midst of their entertaining
sets. These two always get the crowd going.

Tired of being ripped off on NYE as club and
pub owners cash in on the biggest night of the year; where you pay top whack to
get into a crowed and over hyped party???? Well, seeing as we are headed for

being the best night in town. Oh no, we are getting the cream of our residents
and carefully selected guests to cancel their plans and get behind the decks to
make sure the night is nothing short of perfect; all thriller, no filler, Just
